Black Girl Does Grad School is looking to feature blog posts by Black women making their way through the Academy. All levels of grad school experience are welcome and encourage to submit, from undergraduate seniors applying to graduate school, all graduate school programs from any discipline, to newly finished with the dissertation.

To submit, send an e-mail to with the following information:

  • Either a pitch for a piece or a draft of a piece (500-1,000 words is good)
  • A short (100 words or less) bio about you: your institution, current level in your graduate program, discipline, research interests (if any) and, if you feel so inclined, a few fun facts about yourself
  • OPTIONAL: a headshot to go with your bio

Anticipate a response within 24 hours.
